Australian Bureau of Meteorology investigate the posting of fraudulent website page.

On Saturday the 13th March, I sent the following email to the Australia Bureau of Meteorology regarding a link appearing on the internet and claiming to be the official BOM website. This page showed an item which referred to an investigation into the radar images I have been researching since January 15th, 2010.

Below my email is the reply received today from BOM, informing me that the page in question and posted on the Internet on March 1st was infact a fraud:

Hello

My name is Colin Andrews, I own Colin Andrews Research, am a researcher and author and have been monitoring and investigating the radar images on your national radar system since January 15 th 2010.

I was sent the following link which appears to be a cache of what was on the BOM website on March 1st:

http://74.125.113.132/search?q=cache:AjAHAgrswQMJ:www.beauro-shops.co.cc/australian-bureau/australian-bureau-meteorology.htm+colin+andrews+australia+radar&cd=167&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

The item reads:

Australian Government Investigation into Mysterious Weather Radar The Australian Government's Bureau of Meteorology has started an investigation into mysterious weather radar symbols first reported by Colin Andrews - HAARP ?
-------
Can you please confirm that this did indeed appear as shown on your website and also kindly send me the link where I can find it now on BOM website, presumably in your archive?.

If you are able to confirm that an investigation into the curious radar
interference patterns is being undertaken as referred to in that item?

I appreciate your help.

Sincerely

Colin Andrews

Mr Andrews

The page you have provided details of is a fake and is not a page from the Bureau of Meteorology (Australia)

I am infact organising an investigation into this as whoever has 'created' this page and is using the Bureau's name is committing a fraud.

Thanks for advising...but there was no such mention made on our website http://www.bom.gov.au/ - which is the only authorised Bureau of Meteorology (Australia) web site.
